Asked by Todd Ross in Children's TV Shows, Animated TV Series, Decade - 1980s

What are some interesting facts about the 1980s cartoon She-Ra?

   User Avatar
She-Ra’s Origins. The spin-off of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, this show was designed a bit differently than its predecessor. While the first show was based off of the Masters of the Universe toy line by Mattel, She-Ra: Princess of Power was designed in collaboration between the toymaker and Filmation Associates, who animated both shows. She-Ra’s target audience was a young female crowd to compliment the young male viewers of He-Man. However, She-Ra was still designed with toy lovers in mind, as a way to boost the sales of Mattel’s Barbie dolls. The plan actually seems to have worked, as Barbie sales topped $350 million by 1986, about a year after Princess of Power began its syndicated run. Beloved by Both Girls and Boys. Despite the intent to be an aid to Barbie sales, She-Ra was preferred by more kids. In a survey of children, She-Ra was voted “most likely to hold back tears.” Girls liked her assertiveness while Barbie was seen as more passive. And boys liked that She-Ra
was smart and strong, while they disliked Barbie for focusing on material things, like her Dream House. Almost on the Big Screen. The titular character was almost featured in the 1987 Dolph Lundgren adaptation Masters of the Universe, but director Gary Goddard decided he would feature She-Ra in the sequels. But of course, the live action series never got its sequel. Hey, that looks familiar! Many shots in She-Ra: Princess of Power were actually recycled from He-Man in order to save money, as Filmation’s animation style operated very much under the mantra of “quantity over quality.” Kids didn’t really notice the reused assets though, so this helped the studio make a lot more money off of the cartoons. And if you recognize certain sound effects, that’s because they reused effects from 1978’s Battlestar: Galactica. Mattel actually purchased a rival, Sheera. This really wasn’t a rival so much as Mattel wanting to make sure they had their bases covered. Barbara Hambly’s fantasy novel,
Ladies of Mandrigyn, featured a character named Sheera. There were no real similarities other than the name, but Mattel paid her $25,000 just in case. She Almost Had A Second Career. In 2006, there was some talk of reintroducing the character, but rebranded as a rock star. Fans were outraged at the idea of replacing She-Ra’s sword with a guitar. The idea never went anywhere, but She-Ra has returned into popular culture through the production of Netflix’s She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. Respecting the Character. The series’ writers found that creating action scenes for She-Ra was even more frustrating than with He-Man because not only did they have to minimize the violence, but they also had to contend with what they considered sexist pressure against the idea of a female hero. The titular character design includes a skirt, but it never flies up, despite her acrobatic prowess. An executive producer specifically asked the animation coordinator to make sure that the character’s modesty
was kept intact. The Influences Continue. Just like its predecessor’s original concept, She-Ra was heavily influenced by George Lucas’ Star Wars. The cartoon’s major conflict is about the Great Rebellion fighting to free the land of Etheria from Hordak, very similar to the main theme taking place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Consider this as well: She-Ra and He-Man are twins, just like the characters of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia from Star Wars.

Asked by Keira Boyle in Domestic Dogs, Cows and Cattle, Animated TV Series, Disney

Is Goofy a cow or dog?

   User Avatar
Goofy is an anthropomorphic dog. The character, originally named "Dippy Dawg," made his debut in a 1932 cartoon short called Mickey’s Revue. Months later, the same character surfaced in other cartoons looking younger, and by 1934, he was going by the name “Goofy.” In 2012, an internet rumor began circulating stating that Goofy was actually modeled on a breed of Scottish cow, but that has since been discredited. Some of the confusion may stem from the fact that Goofy is sometimes shown as having a romantic interest in the character of Clarabelle Cow. However, the two have notable differences in appearance—Clarabelle is clearly a cow due to her horns, short ears, and pronounced snout, none of which Goofy has. The resemblance between Goofy and Pluto, Mickey Mouse’s dog, is much more apparent.

If you choke a Smurf what color does it turn?

   User Avatar
Drop That Smurf! This question assumes that a smurf requires oxygen to survive, which is a valid assumption considering smurfs fear drowning as much as any normal air-breathing creature does. Furthermore, if smurfs require oxygen, then they must have some kind oxygen-transport molecule in their bloodstream. In vertebrates, this molecule is heme with an iron atom at its center and is what gives blood its red color. Since smurfs appear to be vertebrates, we can assume they also have heme in their blood. Now when a naked-skinned vertebrate is choked, namely humans, their faces turn red because surface capillaries in the skin dilate and blood rushes in. Assuming the same thing happens to smurfs, their faces would turn purple. Believe it or not, this was answered on an episode of the Smurfs, in which one of them threatened to hold his breath until he turned red. But instead he turned a dark purple. They are peaceful creatures, for one you should not choke them. Choking smurfs is illegal. Let's
pretend that smurfs are little blue human beings. Human beings turn red at first when you choke them. Red+Blue = Purple. I happen to know from experience, that if you choke a smurf (which you can do), they turn invisible. Its actually a very simple concept if you are intelligent enough to understand it, which, unfortunately, none of you are. I once choked a smurf, but seeing as they don't have any lungs it didn't do anything. I'm sure if you choke a Smurf they would turn white. It Chokes the blue right out of em. Logically, I would say red, but I think it would be sweet if they turned green or orange or something really bright.

What episode did Goku meet turtles?

If you are talking about the turtle from Dragon Ball, (when Goku is a kid) it happens around Episode 5, if I'm right. If you're talking about "Turles," not "Turtle" or "turtles," in the Dragon Ball Z movie "The Tree of Might." He does not appear in the main series.

yes because some notable characters die. For this user, it's downright heartbreaking at times. The series as a whole, however, is not tragic. DIFFERENT PERSON: It is not really sad per say. It has some sad parts, but it is not as a whole, sad. It is awesome, the way they put the plot together.

Does Allen walker have the heart of innocence?

   User Avatar
Apocryphos (also known as Cardinal) Says in Chapter 213 page 7 "I understand Please Leave it to me. My lord. He who carries the "heart". Yes. I will defend you for certain." during the scene of when Allen is saved by the Noah and Link declared dead. That crosses Lenalee out of having the heart of innocence because Cardinal says he, and that also crosses out Kanda for he wasn't there at the present time and was without his innocence. It only leaves Allen. Since it is also certain that Lavi doesn't have it either because he is a bookman and is supposed to report to Bookman if anything weird is starting to happen. So the Answer is Yes Allen has the heart of innocence.Even before chapter 213 there has been clues leading toward Allen having it.Allen lost his arm but his innocence didn't die.Allen was also saved by his innocence.Allen's revived innocence can turn into the opposite colored sword of the Earl. And also note that Allen's innocence seems to be in two pieces. The mask and the arm/sword.
Lenalee's innocence protected her with a crystal but you can also say because the innocence was ready to evolve into a crystal type innocence.Kanda's innocence also became a crystal type innocence.

What episode of Hitman Reborn does it get good?

   User Avatar
About episode 20, I'd say. At the start of the Kokuyo arc with Mukuro and the rest. Before that it's pretty silly. After you get past all the cracky character-introduction episodes, though, it's really very good. There are three main story arcs and villains so far, Kokuyo (Mukuro), Ring Battles (Varia) and Ten Years Later (Byakuran). They're really worth watching. EDIT: After episode 15 I think it got pretty intense , just go through the first 10 eps afterwards the epicness satrts , and the epic level in this anime just keeps rising , the last arc was pretty amazing too!
